The supercontinent that held nearly all of Earth's land in one mass, assembled around 335 million years ago and breaking apart from roughly 200 million years ago into the continents of today. Matching rock formations, mountain belts and fossils stranded on opposite Atlantic shores were Wegener's evidence for it, and its slow dispersal is plate tectonics written at the largest scale.
